How it works and why it fits.
A multi-split connects a single inverter outdoor unit to several indoor units, each with its own remote and temperature setting. It frees up balcony and façade space compared with fitting a separate outdoor unit for every room, and the inverter compressor adjusts to how many rooms are actually running.

- For more than about five rooms, a VRF system is usually a better fit

Is multi-split cheaper than separate splits?
The equipment usually costs a little more, but you save outdoor space and often get better efficiency when only some rooms are in use.
Can I add rooms later?
Only up to the number of ports the outdoor unit has, so plan for the final number of rooms at the start.
