Soft annealed copper coils
Soft annealed (O temper) copper tube is heat-treated so it bends by hand or with a bender and can be flared. It is the standard tube for split AC and ductable refrigerant lines, supplied in coils that are cleaned, dehydrated and sealed at both ends.

Good practice
- For R32 and R410A, choose a wall rated for their higher pressure (at least 0.8 mm for 1/4″–1/2″ and 1.0 mm for 5/8″ is a common AC maker minimum)
- Keep coil ends sealed until use so moisture and dirt stay out
- Insulate both liquid and suction lines to stop sweating and heat gain
